The reCUP paper cup by CupPrint has been certified by the prestigious European Green Dot scheme as AAA.

That means reCUP cups can be recycled in any paper waste stream and recycled into new paper products.

The reCUP is the first paper cup to be certified at this level.

Here you can follow a cup from bin to rebirth, via a regular waste processing plant commonly seen across Europe and the UK – and then through a pulping facility.

Terry Fox, General Manager of Cup Print says: “We’re delighted with the results for reCUP during the tests done as part of the European Green Dot certification, which will now open up new avenues for recyclable paper cups in Ireland, Europe and the UK.”

The reCUP uses EarthCoating® , an innovative barrier coating.

This mineralised liner aims to break down more easily in appropriate recycling channels.

CupPrint is a Huhtamaki Group company and offers customers a range of paper cup choices.

These include:

  1. Standard PE lined paper cups that are recyclable where facilities exist
  2. Compostable cups that are compostable in commercial composting facilities (including domestic brown bins)
  3. reCUP recyclable paper cups as detailed above.
